Mechanic fixes motorcycle for street sweeper who walks 5 hours a day to go to work in RS

A mechanic from Cruzeiro do Sul (RS) decided to help a street sweeper who walked five hours every day to clock in and go to work in a neighboring town.

Cristiano Silva walked more than 16 km a day (8 to go and another 8 to come back), from Forqueta Baixa, in the interior of Arroio do Meio, to Rua João Abott, in the center of Lajeado, because he did not have the money to pay for the repair of your motorcycle.

Moved by his story, mechanic Jair Lenz decided to fix the bike for free for the street sweeper.

“I always listen to the program Acorda Rio Grande and this story moved me. Even because of his work, he spends the day running and before that, he used to walk from Barra da Forqueta to Lajeado, so I offered my services to make his life easier, which is not very easy”, explained Jair, who until then had not worked with repairs. of low displacement motorcycles since 2013.

At first, Cristiano did not believe that he would win the repair of the vehicle.

“When I started talking to him over the phone, he wasn’t getting it, it seems he wasn’t buying it because he told me he couldn’t afford it, and I said it wouldn’t cost anything, I just wanted to help”, recalled the mechanic.

As he gave priority to repairing the motorcycle, it was ready in just one week.

“It was a complete engine repair. I no longer work with low-capacity motorcycles, but the service is the same, I ended up doing it with a good heart, as if it were for any other customer”, highlighted Cristiano.
